Credit Card Errors

Here are some common credit card decline errors and solutions.

Explanation
DECLINE
SEC VIOLATION
SERV NOT ALLOWED
ACCT LENGTH ERR
NO ACCOUNT
NO SUCH ISSUER
PIN EXCEEDED
These are received from your credit card’s issuing bank. We recommend to contact their customer service number (on the back of your card)  to find the nature of the error. Often times they can remove the error flag and allow you to try again.
CVV2 MISMATCH

The CVV2 code you entered is incorrect. Please refer to this diagram for the correct code location:

EXPIRED CARD

The expired date on the card has passed or perhaps it was mis-entered.

Incomplete information - Card Number
Invalid Card

The card number entered is incomplete or incorrect.

ADcln - AVS (N)

This AVS response is usually associated with gift cards. We recommend to contact their customer service number (on the back of your card) or enter the correct address on the card’s website (if available).
